Alaska State Troopers are reminding the public that it is illegal to purchase cannabis from a legal dispensary and re-distribute it to persons under the age of 21 and is a prosecutable offense after a traffic stop on the Parks Highway.
Troopers executed a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on the Parks Highway near Healy on Wednesday. During the stop, troopers found that 19-year-old North Pole resident Craig Schill-Zonts was in possession of cannabis while under the age of 21.
It was determined that the cannabis in question had been bought at a licensed dispensary by a person over the age of 21 then re-distributed to Schill-Zonts and another individual under 21.
Schill-Zonts was issued a misdemeanor citation for MICS V and released from the scene.
Troopers say that “Charges will be forwarded against the other person/s identified and involved in the illegal re-distribution of marijuana to persons under 21 years of age.”
