Klawock State Troopers responded to a serious crash at mile 17.8 of Coffman Cove Road on Sunday after receiving a report of a single vehicle accident that had occurred there.
After troopers responded to the scene, their investigation found that while driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup southbound on Coffman Cove Road, 22-year-old Jordon L Goheen lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway entering a ditch. When she did so, the vehicle rolled over striking a power pole.
The crash caused the passenger in the pickup, who was not wearing a seatbelt, to be ejected from the vehicle. The passenger sustained serious injuries in the accident and was medevaced to Washington state for treatment.
Goheen, who was wearing her seatbelt, also suffered injuries in the accident and was transported by EMS from the scene, she was later transported on to Ketchikan.
The accident caused extensive damage to the vehicle estimated at $15,000. Damage to the power pole is estimated at approximately $12,000.
