State and Wildlife troopers responded to the scena of a single vehicle roll-over at 5:30 pm on Saturday evening.
The trooper investigation into that accident revealed that the 2005 Jeep Cherokee involved in the accident had been travelling at a high rate of speed northbound on Coffman Road when it left the road and hit the ditch.
This resulted in the vehicle rolling several times before coming to a rest about 150 feet from the roadway.

The other two passengers, as well as the driver sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and were flown from the island for treatment of their injuries.
The vehicle was totalled in the accident and was towed from the scene.
Shurte’s remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy. Next of kin were notified.
The investigation into the incident continues. Troopers believe high rate of speed and alcohol were factors in the accident.
