Late Monday evening, a Crooked Creek woman fell ill and perished after taking a steam bath in that community, troopers divulged on Wednesday.
Troopers received a report of the death of 25-year-old Michelle Madrona Bobby at 10:56 pm on Monday night, the trooper dispatch reported. They responded to the community on Tuesday morning at 10:07 am to conduct an investigation into the death of Bobby.
The investigation revealed that Bobby became ill after taking a steam bath at her parent’s home. Soon after falling ill, Bobby “went into cardiac arrest and resuscitative efforts were attempted by relatives and friends,” troopers say. A Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation doctor in Bethel declared her deceased following unsuccessful efforts.
Bobby’s remains were transported to Anchorage to the State Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy. Troopers do not suspect foul play.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
