During the early morning hours of last Saturday, the Alaska State Troopers received a 911 call reporting a disturbance in Hope.

Troopers responded to the call that came in at approximately 1:37 am. Their investigation at the scene found that 28-year-old Garid Chapman of Hawaii had assaulted several fellow campers and created a disturbance.
Chapman was charged with four counts of Assault IV and three counts of disorderly conduct.
When troopers attempted to arrest Chapman, he became combative with the troopers. This brought him additional charges of Assault IV on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.
Troopers successfully arrested Chapman and transported him to the Seward jail where he was remanded.
While in his jail cell, Chapman continued by destroying approximately $500 worth of city property. This brought him further charges of Criminal Mischief.
He was held with no bond.
Chapman appeared at his arraignment on Sunday as well as on Thursday. His bail of $3,000 was posted. His next court appearance is on June 5th.
