At about 12:15 am Thursday morning, Alaska State Troopers stopped an ATV that was driving on McPherson Avenue in Sutton.

After stopping the ATV and driver, troopers approached the vehicle. The driver of the ATV, Kyle Blakeman, age 21 of Sutton, then immediately accelerated, dragging the troopers with him down McPherson Avenue. The troopers suffered minor injuries as a result.

Blakeman was later contacted by troopers after identifying him as the driver of the ATV. Troopers found that Blakeman, in addition to driving an ATV on the roads, was also intoxicated behind the handlebars.

Pursuant to the dragging inciident on McPherson Avenue, Blakeman was arrested for Assault III X2 of a Peace Officer, Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Police Officer in the First Degree, Reckless Driving, DUI, Refusal, and Criminal Mischief.

Blakeman was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. He is being held on $5,000 bail.
