An elderly interior woman was walking along the Steese Highway when she was struck by a vehicle on the highway, she died as a result.

84-year-old Leila Peterman, of Fox, Alaska, 10 miles to the northeast of Fairbanks, was struck and killed by a 2013 Subuaru, driven by 25-year-old Tyrel Christiansen of Fairbanks.

Troopers say they received the report of the vehicle/pedestrian incident at 5:23 pm on Tuesday evening and are investigating the details of the crash.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
