Fairbanks Mail Clerk Indicted for Stealing Mail

A North Pole mail clerk has been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for mail theft announced U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler in Anchorage on Tuesday.

According to the U.S. Justice Department, 47-year-old James H. Dzimitrowicz of North Pole, was indicted on charges of  Mail Theft for stealing packages containing prescription drugs from 2011 until 2014 while employed as a mail clerk at the main post office in Fairbanks. The packages containing prescriptions were from pharmacies to patients in the Fairbanks area.

The investigation that led to the indictment was conducted by the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General.

Dzimitrowicz is scheduled for  arraignment on the charges on August 27th in the U.S. District Court in Fairbanks.
