While on patrol near Pegar Road and Phillips Field Road on Wednesday, the Bureau of Highway Patrol observed a truck traveling on the road with the windshield covered in ice obscuring the driver’s view. As a result, the vehicle was pulled over.
When contacted, the driver gave the troopers a false name and date of birth. Troopers would confirm his identity however. He was identified as 23-year-old Samuel Green of Fairbanks. He was found to be driving with his license revoked.
Green struggled with the officer when he was being placed under arrest for Giving False Information and Driving while License Revoked, and subsequently was charged with Resisting Arrest as well.
Later, Green would attempt to hide and destroy some marijuana that he had on his person. As a result of that action, troopers would add Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance and Tampering with Evidence to his growing list of charges.
Troopers transported Green to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded without bail.
