It was announced by the Justice Department on Friday that a former member of the Latin Kings residing in Anchorage was sentenced to prison.

The announcement, made by U.S. District Attorney Karen Loeffler, reported that 27-year-old Miguel Carl Myers was sentenced to 37 months in prison for pointing a loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun at another person during a drug transaction as he demanded payment for heroin. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Myers also has pending charges in state court for Robbery I, Assault III Misconduct Involving Weapons III, Theft II and Making a False Report. He has already been convicted reccently for Theft II.
Myers has several prior convictions for Domestic Violence for strangling and assaulting the women of his children.
