The discovery of four bodies in a south Anchorage four-plex has Anchorage Police investigating the “suspicious” deaths and are working to determine if the deaths were an “isolated event in the house,” or if there is an unidentified suspect still at large.
Approximately 10 patrol cars including burglary and homicide units converged on the gray fourplex on the 500 block of East 74th Avenue and cordoned off the street from Nathan Drive to Michelin Place at approximately 1 pm after the discovery at around 12:30 pm this afternoon.
Police said in a short statement at the scene, “APD’s Crime Scene Team is on-scene, along with detectives from APD’s Homicide and Robbery/Assault units to determine what happened. East 74th between Michelin Place and Nathan Drive is currently closed off at this time.”
Officers spread out to the neighboring homes in the quiet neighborhood to query about commotion or anything unusual in the past couple of days.
It wasn’t until approximately 4 pm that police, after waiting for warrants, that crime scene investigators entered the residence, according to police.
The bodies were discovered by a man who was checking on the young couple who neighbors say had at least one child. According to police, the slain family were described as relatives of his. Police are not identifying the victims or the make-up of the family unit at this time.
