At 5:07 pm on Halloween, troopers were called out to a domestic disturbance in progress at a Soldotna residence.
When troopers arrived at the location, and conducted their initial investigation into the reported incident, they found that 38-year-old Donald Barger had assaulted a female at that residence. According to the report, Barger had assaulted the female with a dinner bowl during an argument.
Further investigation found that Barger has had several other assault convictions. As a result, Barger was charged with Felony Assault III (DV).
Barger was transported to Kenai, where he was remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility. He was arraigned on Sunday, and appointed a Public Defender.
