A Kivalina resident contacted the Kotzebue State Troopers to report that his credit card had been used online multiple times without his permission, he reported the incident on Tuesday, August 27th.
The trooper investigation revealed that the victim had used his credit card to make a purchase at a local hardware store. It was at that time, according to troopers that the store clerk, Oscar Charlie Henry acquired the credit card numbers that he would later use to make multiple credit card purchases without the victim’s knowledge.
On Tuesday, September 3rd, after their investigation into the reported incident, the Alaska State Troopers requested and received an arrest warrant for Oscar Henry.
Henry was arrested on the warrant and charged with Theft II, Theft III, and Fraudulent Use of an Access Device x11. Henry was remanded to the Kotzebue Regional Jail with his bail set at $5,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
WIth the investigation into the incident continuing, the troopers are requesting anyone with information on the credit card theft to please contact the Kotzebue State Troopers or the Kotzebue Police Department.
