Dallas Seavey, the frontrunner in the 2012 Iditarod has made it into Koyuk. He arrived at 3:17 this morning after 8 and a half hours on the trail.
The 25-year-old 2011 Yukon Quest Champion was followed into Koyuk by Aliy Zirkle, the current second place musher, at 4:53 am.
Now back on land for the majority of the rest of the trail, both mushers checked in at the checkppoint at the Community Recreational Center.
If all went well on the trail for Aaron Burmeister, he should be pulling into the checkpoint to join the two frontrunners momentarily.
