Soldotna-based Alaska State Troopers reported on Tuesday, that after a two-month investigation into a Kenai man that was reported to have had sexually abused an 8-year-old child, they have arrested the suspect.

Troopers reported that they arrested 26-year-old Genady Basargin of Kenai on Wednesday November 12th. Basargin was charged with Sexual Abuse of a Minor as well as Child Pornography after their investigation found that Basargin had documented the Sexual Abuse.

Troopers full list of charges includes two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor II, 13 counts of Unlawful Exploitation of a Minor, 13 counts of Indecent Viewing or Photography, and 55 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Basargin was arrested without incident. He was arraigned on Thursday , November 13th. His next court date is on November 24th at 4 pm.
