Kodiak Troopers Ask Public for Assistance Finding Assault Suspect

kodiak troopers handcuffsKodiak police and State Troopers based there are once again asking the public for assistance in locating a Kodiak man on DV Assault charges and violating his conditions of release, the trooper dispatch reports.

Kodiak police received a 911 call of an assault in progress from Bay View Drive at 3:40 pm Monday. Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene. Once there, they would find that 28-year-old Keith Blondin had assaulted a 28-year-old woman while she was holding a one-year-old child in her arms.

Further investigation into Blondin’s past would reveal to troopers that Blondin had “multiple condition of release for a prior assault on the same 28-year-old female,” according to the trooper dispatch. Court records show that the female had received a short term Protective Order in mid-April, but that protective order was modified within a week.

Because Blondin had fled the scene prior to the arrival of the troopers, troopers requested and obtained a warrant for Blondin’s arrest.

Troopers submitted charges of Domestic Violence Assault IV and four counts of Violating Conditions of Release to Kodiak’s District Attorney.

Troopers ask that anyone with knowledge of Blondin’s whereabouts to call them at 486-4121 or Crime Stoppers at 486-3113.
