Major Crimes Unit Investigates Death of Kotlik Man

The Major Crimes Unit of the Alaska State Troopers in Anchorage says it is continuing its investigation of the death of a  Kotlik man over the weekend.

Alaska State Troopers in Emmonak were contacted and informed of a unresponsive male, 28-year-old Jerald Fancyboy, at a residence in the community at 11:.55 pm on Saturday night.

The Village Police Officers and Health Aides responded to the scene. They determined that Fancyboy was deceased.

The Major Crimes Unit and troopers from the St Marys post responded to the community to investigate the death of Fancyboy and his remains were transported to Anchorage for autopsy at the State Medical Examiner’s facility there. Kotlik is a community of approximately 650 residents situated along the Yukon River delta 165 miles northwest of Bethel.

Fancyboy’s next of kin have been notified.
