Man Arrested after Pouring Gas on Family

trooperarrestA Wasilla man was jailed after an incident on Caribou Road in Wasilla on Friday night that garnered him several assault charges troopers reported.

The trooper dispatch that officers responded to a disturbance call at a Caribou Road residence at 8:25 pm on Friday night. When they arrived, the conducted an investigation at the scene that revealed the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Richard Hacker, of Wasilla, had poured gasoline on several family members during an altercation at the residence.

When a family member attempted to stop Hacker from pouring gas on the others, Hacker again assaulted the family member.

By the time troopers arrived at the scene, Hacker had already fled the area. But, he was apprehended a short time later at the Knik-Goose Bay Game Refuge area.

Hacker was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded without bail.

On Saturday, Hacker was arraigned in Palmer Court. He was charged with one count of Assault II (class B Felony), seven counts of Assault III (class C Felony) and one count of Assault IV (class A Misdemeanor).

 

His bail was set at $25,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
