Alaska State Troopers in Palmer reported on Thursday that sometime between last week and Wednesday, thieves stole braided aluminum wire from behind the Mat-Su Regional Hospital near the Matanuska Electric Association construction site.

The trooper investigation revealed that braided aluminum steel-core wire had “literally been cut from hanging wires off power poles.” Taken were four wires, each approximately 30 feet in length.

The wires had been taken down and spooled on the ground to undergo maintenance behind the hospital.

Troopers are asking anyone with information on this crime to please contact them at (907) 352-5401.
