Late evening on Tuesday, while traveling southbound at mile 92.5 of the Glenn Highway, two individuals on a motorcycle encountered and collided with a moose.
Alaska State Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol and EMS responded to the crash scene at 9:44pm on Tuesday. They found multiple travelers already at the scene administering CPR and first aid to the victims.

Although it hasn’t been positively determined who the driver of the motorcycle was, troopers believe it was 29-year-old Ryan Beachy of Sutton. Beachy had suffered serious injuries in the moose collision and was declared deceased at the scene despite efforts to revive him.
According to the trooper dispatch, the presumed passenger on the motorcycle, 25-year-old Indian resident Tracy L Bushnell suffered serious injuries and was unconscious during the entire time she was on-scene and as she was being transported by LifeMed to Anchorage. She is now listed in critical but stable condition.
According to the investigation at the scene, Beachy and Bushnell, while traveling southbound on the Glenn when a moose entered the roadway. Subsequent to striking the moose, both Beachy and Bushnell were ejected from the machine.
Only one helmet was found at the scene, it was determined that it was worn by Bushnell.
The State Medical Examiner took possession of Beachy’s remains and next of kin were notified.
The moose, wich did not survive the impact, was given to a local charity.
