The North Star Center contacted Alaska State Troopers at 7:55 pm on Friday night to report an escape from their facility in Fairbanks.
They reported that 23-year-old Lucas Tebo-Carpenter had left the facility that evening. Carpenter had been assigned to the center following his apprehension on Criminal Trespass and Theft charges on October 30th. Carpenter had also been arrested on warrant charges on that date as well.
Less than five hours later, at 10:36 pm, troopers contacted Carpenter during a traffic stop. When contacted, Carpenter fled on foot to avoid being arrested. But, a short distance later, troopers caught up to and subdued Carpenter as he resisted arrest.
Carpenter was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Facility after his brief departure from custody.
