A Ketchikan driver was killed in “a single vehicle roll-over wreck” on the South Tongass Highway on Wednesday late evening troopers reported.
Troopers in Ketchikan received a report of a single vehicle roll=over at mile 5 of the South Tongass Highway at 10:40 pm Wednesday night. When troopers responded, they would discover that the driver, 43-year-old Verna Edenshaw, had suffered fatal injuries in the wreck and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Of the five passengers in the vehicle, one suffered serious injuries. 26-year-old Melissa Williams of Saxman was transported to an Anchorage hospital for treatment of her injuries. The other four passengers were transported to Ketchikan’s PeaceHealth hospital for medical evaluations.
Edenshaw’s next of kin were notified of her death and William’s next of kin were notified of her injuries.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
