After contacting a Palmer man that the Alaska State Troopers suspected of being involved in a burglary that was reported Sunday morning at 7:48 am, the man was arrested for drug possession and other charges.
The call that went in to the troopers on Sunday reported that a sum of approximately $12,000 in cash and checks was stolen from a residence near Bodenburg Loop in the vicinity of Palmer, the money was in a safe that was stolen as well. In addition to the stolen safe and money, a firearm was discovered missing at the residence.
The trooper investigation led them to 30-year-old Palmer resident Craig Dunyon.
When Dunyon was contacted, Alaska State Troopers discovered that Dunyon had cocaine and heroin in his possession.
Dunyon was subsequently arrested on charges of Burglary I, Theft II x6, two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV, Criminal Trespass I, and Criminal Mischief III.
The suspect was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded without bail.
