Police Conclude Active Search for Robbery Suspect without Success

image15-12-2015-10.45.04Anchorage police report that the active search for a robbery suspect in southeast Anchorage has concluded with the suspect not being located or apprehended.

Police say they are still investigating the robbery that took place in the area of East 74th and the Old Seward Highway at just after 4 am Wednesday morning.

According to their initial report, Anchorage police say that they received a call at approximately 4:20 am this morning reporting a disturbance and shots fired at that location. The initial call was followed by further calls reporting shots fired.

“A few minutes later, it was reported to police that a male and two females were in a physical altercation outside; one of the subjects was talking about robbing the other and trying to break into vehicles,” police stated. Then, ” The male started physically assaulting one of the females.”

When police arrived, they made contact with one of the women and found she had minor injuries from the incident. She was checked out by medics at the scene. The second female had fled the scene prior to the arrival of police, but was located by officers searching the area.

Police used a K9 unit to attempt to locate “the male suspect described as a native male wearing jeans, a coat, and possibly a hat.”
