Rockslide Debris Disables Vehicle on Seward Highway

image23-03-2015 07.33.16The Department of Transportation was contacted, and was informed of a rockslide on the Seward Highway in the early morning hours of Monday after a motorist there collided with debris on the roadway.

Alaska State Troopers were contacted by motorist, Henry Myers III of Anchorage at 2:50 AM on Monday morning. Myers informed troopers that his vehicle was disabled at mile 38 of the Seward Highway after he collided with rocks on the roadway.

Myers, who was traveling southbound on the highway was not injured in the incident.

The Department of Transportation was notified of the rockslide and immediately responded to the area to clear the roadway of debris.

Myers vehicle, which was disabled, could not be driven from the scene due to damage, and so, a tow truck was dispatched to tow the vehicle from the scene.
