It was announced by the Alaska State Troopers that funding ended for the search of two snow machiners lost between Kotzebue and Selawik. That funding ended as of 5 pm Wednesday.
The search for the two travellers, 23-year-old Shallain Adams and 32-year-old Clifford Griest has been ongoing since their disappearance on May 15th when they did not arrive at their destination of Selawik.

There has been no sign of the two or any leads as to where they might possibly be since the search, that has been hampered by poor weather and breaqkup conditions, began.
Although the troopers are stepping away from the lead in the search, they stated that they will step back into the operation if any new leads are discovered in what is now listed in the state database as a missing persons case. The search will continue but has been scaled back as spring break-up conditions make the search more difficult and dangerous for searchers.
The Air National l Guard had been searching by air since last week, but were released from the search on Tuesday as well.
Scaled back search efforts will continue until members of the families determine that the search should be suspended. Donations for the search efforts can be sent to Well-Fargo to the Arctic Circle Search and Rescue in the name of the Adams-Griest Search.
