Troopers report that on Thursday evening they received an unnatural death call from a 24-year-old female in Soldotna.

The Soldotna woman, whose name was not revealed called in to 911 at 6:20 pm “reporting that she had found her 12-month-old son unresponsive in the bathtub,” troopers said in the trooper dispatch.

Troopers and Central Emergency Services responded to the scene and the child was transported to the Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna by CES. At the hospital, the child was pronounced deceased.

The State Medical Examiner was notified of the death, at which time, they requested the remains be sent to Anchorage for autopsy to determine cause of death.
