An early morning fire in Soldotna kept firefighter busy for hours at a blaze that began at 3:45 am.

The residents of a house on Hallelujah Drive awoke to flames when the homeowner went outside to investigate noises.
The house was occupied by aBrad Nelson and his wife. They escaped the fire unscathed, the house was’nt as lucky though, and it sustained about $100,000 worth of damage.
When Central Emergency Services and members arrived at the scene of the fire, the building was fully ablaze with fire on the rooftop and a gasline shooting flames into the structure. Firefighters worked to keep the fire under control as Enstar was called in to dig up the gasline at a location away from the house to turn off the gas.
After the gasline was shut down, fire personnel were able to extinguish the fire at about 6:45 am. Central Emergency Services remained at the scene until 8 am.
The origin of the fire is still under investigation.
