Soldotna Man Arrested on Kidnapping Charges

The Alaska State Troopers reported yesterday via dispatch that they responded to a disturbance call at a residence in Soldotna off of the Sterling Highway last Thursday at 12:43 PM.

When they responded to the residence and contacted the woman who called in the complaint, the trooper investigation that followed would reveal that the suspect in the call had assaulted the woman over a span of days at the residence.

Troopers report that 47-year-old Charles Brady had taken the woman’s phones and would not allow her to contact law enforcement or leave the residence. Because the assaults that had taken place caused serious injuries to the woman, she was transported to the Central Peninsula Hospital by CES.

When troopers had arrived at the scene, Brady had already left the area.

With the assistance of the Soldotna Police, Troopers were able to later locate Brady at another residence in Soldotna approximately four hours later.

Troopers immediately arrested Brady and transported him the Wildwood Pretrial Facility in Kenai, where he was remanded with no bail set on charges of Kidnapping Assault II x2, Assault IV, and Interfering with the Report of a DV Crime. All of these charges are Domestic Violence crimes.
