At 5:22 pm on Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers responded to a death investigation scene near a residence in the Skyline neighborhood of Soldotna.

Their initial investigation into the deaths of two persons leads them to believe that the deaths were that of a homicide-suicide. The incident occured near one of the person’s home.

Troopers believe that the two knew each other and that the death occured because of a domestic violence homicide that was immediately followed by a suicide.

The investigation into the deaths will be continued by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation who have responded to the scene.

Update:

On Wednesday morning, the Alaska State Troopers released the names of the victims in the incident. They were identified as 69-year-old Earl Moore and 66-year-old Lynda Moore both of Soldotna.

Next of kin have been notified.
