Alaska State Troopers located and arrested one of the escapees from the North Star Center after receiving a tip on Thursday, the trooper dispatch reports.

23-year-old Logan Patrick Austin, wanted for escape as well as two active warrants; one $20,000 warrant for Failure to Appear and a $5,000 for Robbery, was apprehended after a call came in to authorities, tipping them off to his whereabouts.

Alaska State Troopers, Fairbanks Police, North Pole Police, and University of Alaska-Fairbanks Police responded to the Holiday Gas Station on Third Street after receiving the tip. Austin was contacted and arrested without incident.

Austin walked away from the North Star Center on January 14th. The North Star Center is a halfway house, and as so does not have corrections officers or security fences to contain the inmates there.

Austin, has a criminal record of thefts and drug possession, his most recent offense was for heroin possession. He was out on bail for that offense when he violated his conditions of release and was re-arrested on January 4th for violating his conditions of release.
