Alaska State Troopers responded to a call at 12:41 am last Friday morning after they received a call of a vehicle in the ditch on Yadon Road near country Lane in Wasilla.
When they arrived on the scene, they found a man identified as 26-year-old Wasilla resident, Thomas Bracken, had driven into the ditch when he lost control of his vehicle. Troopers determined that Bracken was impaired by alcohol at the time.

Looking into Bracken’s past, they found that he had received two DUI convictions in the last ten years, making this current incident a Felony DUI. Bracken was also required to have a Ignition Interlock Device installed in any vehicle he was operating. None was installed in the vehicle.
Further investigation found that prior to the troopers arrival, Bracken had gone to a neighboring residence and attempted to break in by throwing a large paving block through the window of the front door of the residence. Approximately $1,000 worth of damage was done according to the trooper report.
The investigation found that Bracken also9 entered a vehicle at the residence.
Troopers arrested Bracken and transported him to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was remanded on $7,500 cash only bail.
Bracken was charged with Felony DUI, Attempted Burglary I, Criminal Mischief III, Criminal Trespass II, and Driving in Violation of Limitations Placed on his Driver’s License.
