Troopers Capture Three Suspects Wanted for February Home Invasion

trooper crime sceneAlaska State Trooper reported on Thursday that they arrested the last suspect reported to be involved in a Wasilla home invasion that occurred in mid-February at a residence off of Caribou Road on Wednesday.

The trooper’s Criminal Suppression Unit’s  investigation was initiated on the morning of February 23 after troopers responded to the scene of a home invasion at 4:10 am. The investigation at the scene revealed that “multiple suspects forced entry into the residence and robbed/assaulted the occupants while armed,” troopers reported. Troopers stated that the suspects had stolen approximately $5,000 worth of household goods as well as the victim’s car.

The investigation identified three suspects in the case. Then, on March 19th, AST made the first of three arrests. They located 34-year-old Beauford Horman at a Nelson Avenue residence in Wasilla, and after a foot pursuit, captured him.

Four days later, on Wednesday, U.S. Marshals with the Fugitive Task Force and troopers located 34-year-old Jared Blackmore in the area of 6th and Ingra in Anchorage. He was arrested without incident.[xyz-ihs snippet=”adsense-body-ad”]

On the same day, troopers with the Criminal Suppression Unit arrested 40-year-old Joe A. Garcia during a traffic stop on the Parks Highway near Hermon Road in Wasilla.

Troopers say that all three suspects were charged with “Kidnapping, Robbery I, Assault II, Assault III, Burglary I, Theft II (x5), Vehicle Theft I, Evidence Tampering, and Impersonating a Public Servant I.

Blackmore, Horman, and Garcia were remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Blackmore’s bail was set at $100,000, Horman’s was set at $25,000, while Garcia’s bail was set at $75,000. It was stipulated that all three men are required to have a Court Approved Third Party Custodian as part of their bails requirements.
