After responding to a Palmer residence on Sunday, troopers found signs of a possible meth lab at the house.
After finding signs of a lab, the troopers contacted the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit.

SDEU applied for and obtained a search warrant for the residence and their investigation would find numerous items consistant with the operation of a meth lab in the dweling.
Through the investigation, authorities would locate and arrest two individuals they believed were responsible for the lab.
38-year-old Palmer resident Derek Lyle Smith and 24-year-old Palmer resident Carleigh Kaye Fox were on conditions of release for prior crimes. Smith was on release for Theft II, Theft III, and Criminal Trespass in a pending February case. Fox was on release for Theft III on a March case and on release for an April Controlled Substance case.
Both individuals were transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and charged with Violating Conditions of Release and three couints Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance II.
