Although “no additional information is available for release due to the status of the investigation” of missing Big Lake man, Daniel Roy Buckwalter, troopers are asking the public for assistance in the case that has been open for almost a year.
Troopers say that Buckwalter was last known to be alive on August 4th of last year. At 3 pm on that date, Buckwalter was last seen at his residence in the Meadow Lakes area off of North Kerry Lynn Lane, troopers report.
Two days later, on the 6th, Buckwalter’s vehicle, a pickup truck, was located by troopers on Three Bees Road, but the driver of the vehicle could not be found.
Troopers would return to Three Bees Road on August 12th when Buckwalter was reported missing. They located and impounded the vehicle. The investigation into Buckwalter’s disappearance was initiated and “based on the scene investigation of the pickup and where Buckwalter was last seen, Buckwalter’s disappearance” was considered “suspicious and foul play is suspected,” troopers said.
Buckwalter is described as 6-foot-one inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Troopers also say Buckwalter has a scar on his left cheek.
Any information anyone has in regards to Buckwalter is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-745-2131 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 745-3333. A missing persons bulletin regarding Buckwalter can be found at https://dps.alaska.gov/AST/abi/docs/bulletins/buckwalter.pdf.
