Two Fairbanks Drug Busts in Two Days Net Heroin and Cocaine

drug bustA Saturday evening traffic stop for speeding turned into a drug bust for Fairbanks-based troopers according to a Monday trooper dispatch.

Troopers pulled over a northbound vehicle on the Parks Highway at 6:11 pm on Monday evening and contacted the driver, who was found to be on Federal probation and a search of the vehicle was carried out.

As a result of the search, a package containing 1.6 pounds of uncut cocaine was located at the feet of passenger, 26-year-old Xavier Thompson Bido.

Both the driver and his passenger were arrested  and the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit were called in to assist in the investigation. As a result, Bido was charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III. He was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center to await arraignment.

This was the second substantial bust in as many days. The day prior, a local Fairbanks shipping company informed the SDEU of a package they suspected contained heroin being shipped from Oregon to a Fairbanks address.

All three were remanded to FCC.
