A Tyonek man was arrested and jailed on several charges after he was reported to be walking around that community with a shotgun intoxicated on Friday afternoon.

Troopers received a 911 call at 4:24 pm on Friday, reporting that 31-year-old Gregg McCord “was walking around the Village with a firearm and threatening to shoot people,” according to the trooper dispatch. The caller also stated that “McCord pointed a shotgun at multiple individuals and then turned the gun towards himself.”

A bystander in the community was able to take the weapon away from McCord.

McCord was ultimately arrested without incident and transported to Kenai where he was remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility on charges of Assault III x4, Reckless Endangerment x4, and Misconduct Involving Weapons IV x2.

No one was injured in the incident.
