The Alaska State Troopers report that the 54-year-old Wasilla man who was involved in a crash on the Steese Highway has succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday at Providence Hospital in Anchorage.
On Wednesday, October 3rd, the troopers at the Fairbanks post received a report of an accident south of the intersection of the Steese Highway and the Old Steese Highway at about 8:26 pm. The accident occured between the Howling Dog Bar and the Silver Gulch Brewery.
The investigation into the accident revealed that 54-year-old Daniel Abett was traveling south-bound in an older model Dodge Pickup when he lost control and crashed. Abett was rushed to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Abett was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident according to the troopers.
