Alaska State Troopers report that they arrested a Wasilla man after he fled his vehicle during a traffic stop leaving a woman and child behind in the vehicle on Sunday.
Troopers revealed that they attempted to pull over a vehicle speeding on Pittman Road in Wasilla on Sunday. But, instead of stopping, the vehicle sped away from the officer. A short time later, the vehicle came to a halt, and the driver of the vehicle, later identified as 27-year-old Lawrence Geske, fled the vehicle on foot and ran into the woods, leaving two persons, a woman and child, in the vehicle.
Geske was contacted a short time later and it was revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in a Driving While License Revoked case. It was also found he had a suspended license. As a result, Geske had additional charges leveled against him for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Police Officer I, Driving While License Suspended, and Reckless Endangerment x2.
He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer and held there without bail.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
