After Donald Trump disparaged Mexicans in his speech as he was opening his run for the presidency, NBC has dropped Trump from their line-up.

NBC cut the Billionaire Real Estate mogul from its line-up after Trump said on national TV, that Mexicans are “bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”

NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” reality show was on hold after Trump decided to make a bid for the White House, but NBC also dropped the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants after Univision decided to drop those shows. It was done following a petition with 200,000 signatures urging NBC to  drop the programming. “The Celebrity Apprentice” show has since been renewed, but Trump will not have a part in it.

The airing of the pageant, that Trump is part-owner of, began to run into trouble after Colombian singer J Balvin cancelled his performance at the events. This was followed by the exit of co-hosts Cristian De La Fuente and Roselyn Sanchez. It was soon after that that Univision announced that it would not air the programming.

A petition was circulated, drawing hundreds of thousands of signatures, leading to NBC’s announcement where they said, “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump, at NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.”

Trump said at a Chicago press conference as he confirmed his stance on immigration, “Whatever they want to do is O.K. with me,” he said. “I’ve had a lot of great relationships with NBC, I think as far as ending the relationship, I have to do that, because my view on immigration is much different than the people at NBC.” he added that NBC has been unhappy with him since he decided to run for president.

Trump is currently likely to gain a spot in the GOP party debates, and has Republicans concerned that his stance on women and immigration will cause harm to the GOP. National polls, two in New Hampshire, and one Fox News poll, show Trump behind only fellow contender Jeb Bush, which will virtually include him in the first debate, to be held in August.
