Troopers in Wasilla received a report of a stolen camper trailer from a residence on Sunrise Road on Sunday morning. A short time later, the trailer was located, returned to its rightful owner and the suspect who took the trailer was remanded to jail, according to the trooper dispatch.
It was 11:30 am on Sunday that troopers were informed of a stolen camper trailer on Sunrise Road. The trailer had been missing from the property for approximately a week before it was reported.
Troopers say that they had assistance from a good samaritan in locating the missing item. The trailer was located on Pittman Road in Wasilla. Also located was the female, 27-year-old Cyndee A Weeg, who had allegedly stolen the trailer.
According to the report, Weeg had been living out of the trailer at various locations in Wasilla throughout the week. During the investigation, Weeg was questioned about the theft of the camper and attemptted to place the blame on another individual. Further investigation by troopers would determine that Weeg was out on conditions of release from a previous felony arrest.
As a result of the investigation and release violation, Weeg was arrested on charges of Theft II, False Information, and Violating Conditions of Release. Weeg was subsequently transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded and her bail set at $10,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
The camper trailer was returned to its rightful owner.
