At 11 am on Monday, troopers contacted three individuals after it was reported that they had no paid their camping fee. The contact resulted in all three being arrested on various charges.

Soldotna-based troopers responded to the Johnson Lake Campground after it was reported by the State Park that three individuals failed to pay their camping fees. Troopers contacted 24-year-old Kasilof resident, Dillon Joseph Meehan, 25-year-old Sterling resident Thor Charles Saum, and Soldotna resident 29-year-old Nicholls Clark Stoan.

Troopers found that Meehan was on felony probation and had an outstanding warrant for failure to comply with his conditions, when contacted, Meehan also provided false information as to his identity, had a controlled substance in his possession, as well a weapon in his vehicle.

When troopers investigated Saum’s background, they found him to be on Felony Probation as well. He had conditions that prohibited him to be around other felons, controlled substances or alcohol.

When contacted, the third member of the party, Sloan, was found to be operating his vehicle with a revoked license, and was driving without an Ignition Interlock Device installed as ordered. Sloan was on conditions of release from Wildwood not to drive until licensed and insured.

Troopers report that “Meehan was arrested on the outstanding warrant, Probati
on Violation, False Information, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substanc
e 4th degree, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon 2nd degree. Thor Saum was
arrested for a Probation Violation and Sloan was arrested for Driving with
a Revoked License, Driving in Violation of a Limitation, and Violating Cond
itions of Release for a misdemeanor.”

All three were transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility, where they were remanded without bail.
