PALMER, Alaska-Yesterday evening, January 10th, at approximately 6:20 pm, according to Alaska State trooper reports, officers stopped Gregory R Mothershead, age 28, of Palmer while he was riding a green, Honda ATV.
Mothershead was in the middle of the roadway on East Melanie Lane, near East Brian Road in Palmer. When stopped, he refused to identify himself and then sped off, attempting to flee the stop. The stopping trooper attempted to secure Mothershead and was dragged for approximately 100 feet by the fleeing Mothershead.
When ultimately stopped, Mothershead was arrested on DUI charges as well as assault III(on a police officer)
Mothershead was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility in Palmer and is being held on a $10,000 and Court Approved Third Party bail.
The arresting officer sustained only minor injuries in the incident.
