Alaska State Troopers report that they have made an arrest of a former bank employee that had accessed an account of a deceased bank customer and stole money from it shortly after his death in 2017.
Susana Lepou, age 30 of Anchorage was arrested on Tuesday evening following an investigation opened on February 27th of this year after “suspicious banking activity” was reported following the death of Keith Aumavae, who was discovered in his crashed vehicle down a 100-foot cliff near the Goose Bay airport on November 9th.
Even though Lepou stole money from Aumavae’s account in December 2017, the investigation reports that “there is no indication that Lepou knew Mr. Aumavae.” In fact, the “investigation has revealed additional victims,” AST has revealed.
Lepou has been charged with Theft II x3, and Criminal Use of a Computer x2 and additional charges are expected.
While Lepou was an employee of Alaska USA, she is no longer working there. She remains in custody with no bail pending her arraignment this afternoon.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
