Alaska State Troopers say a woman was shot on Tuesday while out on a short hunting trip by the man on the trip with her.
The shooting incident occurred near the small community of Dot Lake in the eastern interior of the state.

According to the reports, a call went in to Tok Alaska State Troopers via 911 about 2:50 pm on Tuesday. The caller said that he had accidently shot 19-year-old Dot Lake resident Tarsicia Heath with a high-powered rifle.
When medical personnel arrived at the area after traveling from Tok, they pronounced Heath deceased at the scene.
The troopers are releasing very little information on the shooting as they have not concluded the investigation into the incident.
The name of the man involved in the shooting has not been released as no charges have been filed.
The Heath’s remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.
