An investigation was initiated into the disappearance of 52-year-old Ronald Burr of Tazlina after he was reported missing.
After the Alaska State Troopers were notified, search parties were dispatched to the Lake Louise area last Monday after friends and co-workers became concerned that Burr hadn’t been seen since the weekend.
Searchers on snow machines and in the air combed the area with no success.
Then, on Thursday, a Lake Louise resident on a snow machine discovered Burr’s body near the lake’s Larson Bay.
Alaska State Troopers investigated the scene and found that Burr had been involved in a fatal snow machine crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Burr’s remains were transported to the Cross Road Medical Center until the next of kin could be notified.
The State Medical Examiner was also notified and they have since released the body to the family.
