SITKA, Alaska, March 11, 2013 – The University of Alaska Southeast Sitka Campus will host a golf class this spring to help local golfers prepare for the season.
Classes will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sundays, from March 17 to May 5, at the Sea Mountain Golf Course and Restaurant driving range, 301 Granite Creek Rd.
This one-credit class allows beginning and intermediate golfers to hone their skills before the course officially opens in May. This class, PE S103-T04, is for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Golfers will be able to tune up their swings, improve their shot selection, and work on their putting, driving, pitching and other elements of their games. By taking this course, the golfers should become more consistent players, hitting with more accuracy and playing with better game-management skills so they can lower their scores.

The tuition and fees for this course are $174, plus there is a $20 lab fee for golf balls paid to Sea Mountain Golf Course. The class will be taught by John Rennie. Students will spend the first four Sundays at the driving range, and the fifth Sunday will be spent playing the golf course. Students should bring their own clubs, if they have them, and the instructor will have extra clubs available to use.
