SITKA, Alaska – For the first time in nine years, the University of Alaska Southeast Sitka Campus will host the University of Alaska Board of Regents full board meeting. The meeting is on Thursday and Friday, April 11-12, at the UAS Sitka Campus.
A community reception and open house takes places from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, so members of the
public can meet the Board of Regents.
All of the Board of Regents meeting agenda, except those items calling for executive session, is open to the public. The meeting agenda can be found atwww.alaska.edu/bor/agendas/2013/apr-11-12/. Public comment is welcome from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday and from 9-10 a.m. on Friday. Sign-up sheets will be available prior to the meeting, and comments are limited to three minutes per individual or as determined by the chair. Written comments are accepted and will be distributed to the Board of Regents and President Gamble following the meeting.

This is the first time the Board of Regents has met in Sitka since April 2004. Meeting agenda highlights include presentations about the UAS fisheries technology and art programs, updates on university tuition and fees for 2013-14, updates on strategic direction initiatives, updates on facilities and maintenance, and more.
For people outside Sitka wanting to participate in the meeting, the University of Alaska will provide live video conference streaming in Room 201 of the UA Anchorage Administrative Building, Room 204 of the UA Fairbanks Butrovich Building and Room 101D of the UAS Juneau Campus Hendrickson Annex. Live video streaming will be available online (for the first time) each day at www.alaska.edu/oit/services/video-conferencing/streaming-conferences/.
In addition to the Board of Regents meeting next week, the UAS Sitka Campus will host a Sitka Campus Advisory Council meeting from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9. This meeting also is open to the public.
