It was reported to Alaska State Troopers on Saturday afternoon that a Petersburg man was unresponsive aboard a fishing vessel near Ketchikan.

The Petersburg man, 47-year-old Kevin Kivisto, was pronounced deceased by responding EMS personnel near Dog Island, 31 miles southwest of Ketchikan.

The cause of Kivisto’s death was undetermined, but no foul play is suspected in his death.

The State Medical Examiner was contacted and they requested that the body be sent to Anchorage for autopsy.

The Alaska State Troopers thanked the United States Coast Guard as well as the petersburg Police Department for their assistance in the investigation of the case.
