Alaska State Trooperws went to a Wasilla man's home during an investigation of an accident on WIllow Fishhook Road early Thursday morning and placed him under arrest.
Talkeetna troopers responded to a 12:41 am call on Thursday morning on Fishhook Road near Willow Station Road that reported a single vehicle accident.
When the troopers arrrived on the scene, they discovered a 1994 Ford truck off the road with extensive damage and wedged between two trees. The driver of the vehicle was not on the scene. An investigation of the vehicle found that the owner was 45-year-old Troy Holliday. Further inquery would show that Holliday lived nearby in Willow on North Jaclyn Drive.
Troopers traveled to Holliday’s residence to conduct a follow up investigation of the accident. When troopers arrived at Holliday’s home, they saw a man on the front porch with a firearm. While watching, troopers observed the man discharge four rounds in the direction of the back yard of the residence.
Troopers contacted the man who turned out to be Holliday. As they spoke with Holliday, they determined that he had been drinking and operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he crashed his vehicle in the woods.
Troopers arrested Holliday and charged him with DUI as well as leaving the scene of an accident. He was further charged with Misconduct Involving Weapons.
Troopers transported Holliday to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded with his bail set at $500 unsecured and a $1,000 c/c bond.
